Creating Lifelong Bonds
At Farmington Pet Adoption Center, we are dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals in need. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for homeless pets and to find them loving families. Through community engagement and compassionate care, we strive to enhance the lives of animals and people alike.
We are a 501c3 non-profit organization serving six rural counties in Missouri. We are proud to say we are a no-kill shelter.

What is the adoption process like?
Our adoption process involves filling out an application, meeting the pet, and a meet and greet with other dogs in the home. All current pets must be up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered
Can I adopt if I live outside the local area?
Yes, we consider out-of-area adoptions, but you must be able to visit the shelter and transport the pet yourself.
What are the costs involved in adopting a pet?
The adoption fee covers vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying/neutering. Additional costs may include supplies and veterinary care. Your adoptive pet will be fully vetted.
How long does the adoption process take?
The process can take from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the pet and your readiness.
What should I bring when adopting a pet?
For cats, bring a pet carrier.
For dogs, bring a collar and leash.
Can I return a pet if it doesn't work out?
A pet may be returned within 30 days as long as space is available. We do not offer a refund of the adoption fee.
Are all pets vaccinated and spayed/neutered?
Yes, all our animals are fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered before adoption.
Can I adopt more than one pet at a time?
Yes, you can adopt multiple pets.
Do you offer post-adoption support?
Yes, you can call with questions and for support.
